Mitchell Wong proves for a second time he is the man to go to for vision correction. I enjoyed 28 years of glasses free vision after he performed Radial K surgery in the early 80’s. Recently I had noticed my night vision worsening due to glare that cataracts creates. I made the mistake of thinking cataracts was a common issue that most eye doctors could address and since I live in Houston I went to a couple of different places to get an evaluation. They were/are not prepared to handle the compications that the previous surgery poses. I decided I need to go back to Austin Eye to get their opinion and glad I did. The so called complications of other places turns out just to be another item to address and Mitchell Wong explained why this”complication” exist and how he would address it. It turns out the the flattening of the cornea post radial K makes identifying the lens needed for vision correction more difficult. Austin has the latest equipment required to make this measurement and does this after removal of the cataracts to ensure the most accurate measurement. I now have great vision in this eye at mulltiple focal distances for working on computer and on out to any distance it is all clear. Thanks Austin Eye

Great experience and great results. Had laser-assisted cataract surgery with a premium lens implanted. All my contacts, from first phone call to follow-up, was personal and respectful. I was reluctant to have standard cataract surgery since the key to the outcome is the skill of the surgeon performing it; however, I heard that Austin Eye Center was able to perform laser cataract surgery. Being a professor Emeritus of Physics at a major university in our great stqte of Texas, I was quite familiar with the efficacy of femtosecond lasers for performing a ;plethora of eye correcting procedure4s. I then looked up the credentials of Dr. Shannon Wong and saw that he was indeed a highly skilled surgeon and was extremely proficient at doing laser cataract surgery. I had this surgery performed on my right eye and had a multifocal lens installed and the results were amazing since I no longer needed my tri-focal glasses. Dr. Wong is the consummate professional and his assistants, Kelly and Amy, were marvelous. I was so impressed that I also had my left eye done with equal results. Thankful for the excellent, expert services of Dr. John Odette. Not only is he a professional, he’s kind, caring, and on-time. What a great concept!!!! I had cataracts removed and I can SEE!!! Even without glasses. From the minute you walk into the offices, you are treated with dignity and respect. The nurses at the Surgery center are well-informed and patient as are the doctor’s assistants at the office—–two in particular—are Mackenzie and Christen. Thanks again!!!

Have been going to Dr. Mitchel Wong for about 40 years and have always had the best care. During my Cataract Surgery, I could not have had better care from not only Dr. Wong but the entire staff both administrative and surgical. The check-in procedure was easy and fast. Everything was explained completely and fully. The nurses were fabulous – they took me into the prep room and gave me the necessary medications and explained each step and medication in minute detail, and at all times insured my physical and emotional comfort. During the actual surgery, Dr. Wong explained each step as he was performing it and I was always aware and had a complete understanding of what he was doing at that precise instant in time. After the surgery, the nurses made sure I was comfortable until they determined I was recovered and then I was taken in a wheelchair to my, wife driven car, waiting at the curb. Heather then helped into the car and made sure I was securely buckled in before she closed the door. A follow up call was made that afternoon to ensure I was not having any complications from the surgery. All of the follow up check-ups have gone well and my vision is now around 20 20 and still improving. It was explained to me before the operation and in a video that full healing and vision improvement could take up to a year. I would highly recommend, and have recommended, Dr. Mitchel Wong to others for this procedure as well as all of their other eye care. Ken Edwards
