It was with both eager anticipation and some trepidation that I approached cataract and corrective surgery. Eager anticipation because I wasn’t seeing well and had worn hard contact lenses on and off (mostly on) for 50 years and trepidation because isn’t elective surgery just asking for trouble and I don’t do pain or activity constraints well. The entire process — pre-surgery, surgery, post-surgery — was smooth and problem-free. Dr. Bui explained clearly and in lay terms exactly what my options were, the extent to which each option would correct my vision, and how each procedure would be done. During surgery I experienced no discomfort — neither physical nor mental. The staff was efficient and also paid attention to my needs. And post-surgery: again, no discomfort whatsoever and very little down-time. And I can see nearly perfectly with that eye. Now, it is with eager anticipation alone — no trepidation — that I look forward to the same procedure repeated on my other eye.

I just had laser cataract surgery by Dr. Shannon Wong. He and his team at Austin Eye are awesome! I highly recommend Austin Eye for all of your eye care needs.

First and Foremost – Let me start by saying that there are NOT enough stars for my experience!!!!!!!!!!!!! Douglas,Sy,Samantha, Amy, Christian & Dr.Mitchel Wong. Dr. Wong and ALL of the others mentioned are right on with everything that they do. From the moment that Dr. Wong & I came into contact. I felt very comfortable with Dr.Wong. They walked me through every aspect of what they needed to do and was going to do. When you say the word surgery you automatically become afraid, nervous, uncertain as to what the out come will be and so much more!! I will tell you that I felt very little of the above mention. The surgery went extremely well!!!!!!!!!! No pain No issues – Just GREAT vision. My left eye was gone. At the first of the year I will be going back for my right eye. If that tells you anything. Dr. Shannon Wong is wonderfully good-natured, upbeat, and beyond skilled. I couldn’t be happier with my LASIK procedure and followups and would recommend Austin Eye to anyone without hesitation.
