I had laser cataract surgery on both eyes with Crystalens accommodating intraocular lenses. I am very satisfied with the results and the overall experience. The staff at Austin Eye was courteous and professional. Dr Bui answered all my questions and seems to have done an excellent job at repairing my vision. With the lenses I chose I have 20/20 distance vision and can easily read the newspaper in good light all without glasses.

Im not new to vision care as Ive had lasik surgery in the past and I have routine eye checks due to my vision history, but I was new to the Austin area. At the referral of my neighbor, I made an appointment with Dr Shannon Wong and then with the news of cataracts in both eyes–yes I was most anxious. From the first appointment, I was thoroughly informed, not only about my visual condition, but about the procedure itself and what to expect during the recovery. I felt complete confidence in Dr Wong and his kind and understanding staff. They knew I was nervous but their kindness and knowledge guided me through each step of the procedures of the laser process. My cataract surgeries were a month apart. I never felt pressure from the staff to get this done, the decision was totally mine and I knew what to expect during my recovery. You only have one set of eyes and I knew that I must take the best care possible. You will get this care at Austin Eye. I thank Dr Shannon Wong and his wonderful nursing staff for their excellent devotion to vision care. Im grateful that I was in the right place at the right time. Many thanks and Im really happy with the results. Im driving and reading and have a new attitude!

I was impressed with Dr. Shannon Wong and the entire staff at Austin Eye, from my initial consultation, through my pre-op exam, iLASIK procedure and follow up. Dr. Wong was very attentive, honest and informative. I had some very specific expectations about how I wanted my vision correction’s end result to be, and Dr. Wong worked with me patiently and diligently and made it happen! When the idea of having LASIK surgery was first mentioned to me, I was extremely nervous and thought that would be something I would never do. However, once I had the chance to sit down and meet with Dr. Wong during my free consultation, all of my nerves went away, and the idea of the surgery was no longer scary. I am the type of person who really dislikes going to the eye doctor, the thought of even putting eye drops in worried me! However, during my consultation with Dr. Wong, he took the time to listen to all of my concerns, as well as answer any and all questions I had for him. He made me feel very comfortable and safe, and as a result I decided to have LASIK – which has completely changed my life! The day of the surgery, I came in, was given a Valium and some tylenol, and once the medication kicked in I was taken back into the surgery room. The procedure was very fast, and completely painless – it was easy and I am so happy that I had it done. After it was completed, I went home and took a nap, and when I woke up (although things looked a bit foggy) I could see! Knowing that I would never have to rely on contacts or glasses again is wonderful, and I sincerely recommend LASIK to anyone who is considering having it done. Dr. Wong and his staff are very professional, and take the time to address all of your concerns and make you feel safe.
