Very nice people, good doctor. Comfortable atmosphere.

River Ficke, OD, of Austin Eye examined my eyes today in preparation for possible cataract surgery. She was careful, knowledgeable, comprehensive, delightful, and caring. I recommend her highly! Austin Eye is the best.

Excellent experience

My husband has a YouTube Channel for dentistry (DrNickDDS), which made me consider looking for an ophthalmologist on YouTube about four years ago. I had perfect vision until presbyopia set in around the age of 47 for me. As time progressed, I found myself needing to wear readers almost all of the time. I am 59 now. My distance vision seemed to still be pretty good, but I hated wearing readers. I spent a lot of money buying the nicest readers (ROKA is really nice and light), but my dependence on the glasses increased, and I hated it. I’ve been around long enough to realize that not all doctors are the same, regardless of the procedure. In our office, our patients fly in from all over the world for Dr. Nick to fix another dentists failures, so I see this every day. Thats why it took me four years to commit to eye surgery. I would only trust Dr. Wong as my eye surgeon. I flew down to Austin TX in March for my initial visit with Dr. Wong. We discussed lens replacement in one eye, since my distance vision is still good. Dr. Wong also told me that I had a hole in my retina in my left eye (which was somehow missed by the previous 3 ophthalmologists I’ve seen over the years). My retina specialist is our patient so I got in the next day and he did surgery on my retina immediately. (Thank you doctor!) I went back to Dr. Wong June 23rd and had the lens replaced in my right eye with the Envy lens. It is interesting to close one eye and compare what I see to the eye with the new lens. I want to create a YouTube video review because I have combed the internet and it is very difficult to find anyone discussing this protocol, so stay tuned. Dr. Wong gave me exactly what I wanted; I am glasses free and I am thrilled! I had zero pain, no dry eye, and the entire staff at Austin Eye is amazing. I have recommended Dr. Wong to every patient we have who is interested in eye surgery.
