I’m always pleased with Dr Odette and his staff. The renovated lobby is pleasant while waiting. Dr Odette did my lense implants 9 years ago. It’s a joy to go without glasses. Austin eye found my torn retina over 10 years ago. They got me in to Austin Retina that morning.

I am currently 8 weeks post op, Premium Lens replacement. Me, a 60 y.o. male, received the PanOptix Lens, after a diagnosis of Presbyopia … Essentially I lost about 50% of my ability to see from the cataract, and it was progressively getting worse. I had to wear reading glasses for almost any reading or anything that required my visual inspection up close, and intermediate distance as well…, and there seemed to be a increasingly noticeable reduction of light coming into my eye, along with blurriness outlining distant objects over the last 5 years. I was really beginning to worry about real impairment in my later years. After seeing Dr. Shannon Wong and his YouTube informational videos and various presentations, I felt that maybe there is hope. I lived in California for the last 35 years and only a couple of Doctors here offering the procedure. They were nothing compared to the inspiration of Dr Wong. I flew to Austin Texas, to meet Dr Wong in person, and it was the best decision I have ever made in my whole life. Dr Wong had a firm handshake, exuded experience, professionalism, and it was obvious that he cared about others before himself. The first office visit was basic History & Physical, which included the most technologically advanced diagnostic eye equipment available on this earth, which inspired me even more. Additionally, his assistants were warm, caring, well mannered, and backed that Southern Hospitality with a deep fund of knowledge, as they knew exactly what they were doing in preparation for my surgery. Once the diagnosis was achieved, and Dr Wong’s recommendation for the Premium Lens Replacement, I had the Surgery performed the following week for the left eye, and the week after that for the right eye. I arrived at the surgery centre at 8 a.m., where I was greeted by a pre-op nurse, who was assigned to me personally, and spent all of her time prepping and reviewing, me, staying with me 100% of the time, and nobody else…. it really gave me comfort as I was a little nervous. She then took me to the Operating Suite. The procedure was a snap for me. I was surprised how quick it was, like, in and out…! Wow! I was blown away how easy it was, I was expecting much worse…The whole experience was fluid, and a well run program. Attention to details was intense, they cared about people. Post operatively, I had no pain whatsoever. I received special eye drops after the surgery as well as other instructions on how to take care after my surgery…. it was important to take the eye drops, and keep the eye protected from daily insults of everyday life… The healing process was about 75% resolved by the 4th week post op, and 90% resolved at 8 weeks pos op, I had a couple of floaters post op, but they are about 96% resolved at 8 weeks. I can’t get over how much better my vision is now. I am so happy I did this. I don’t need to wear glasses AT ALL. There were a couple of days immediately after surgery, where the computer writing was kind of fuzzy, but I kept taking the drops, and as the post operative inflammation resolved, the fuzziness went away, Mission accomplished, my dream of having the same vision I had back in my early 40’s was fulfilled. My quality of life has greatly improved as a result of this surgery, and the quality of these lenses is significant… I want to thank Dr Wong and his staff for taking care of me and doing such a great job.
