Dr. Shannon Wong helped save my vision! I had a sudden blurry spot in my peripheral vision which turned out to be a detached retina. This occurred on a Saturday so I called the Austin Eye emergency line and left a message. Dr. Wong himself called me back, diagnosed the issue over the phone, and directly referred me to a specialist who was able to see me the same day and address the detached retina. Dr. Wong is not only a phenomenal doctor, but also an incredible human being for caring about people and being available when it matters the most. Thank you Dr. Wong!

I had Laser Lens Replacement surgery at Austin Eye in late September 2020. Dr. Shannon Wong was my surgeon and I found him and the whole office and support staff to be very friendly, professional, and patient answering my questions and addressing my concerns. I am a 55 year old and had worn contact lenses for 30+ years when I started to lose my ability to read up close (presbyopia) and at the distance to see a computer screen. Although I was a little nervous about having my eyes operated on, I weighed the possibility of correcting my vision against the anxiety of having the surgery and decided to go ahead with it. Prior to the surgery I had every type of glasses imaginable plus I continued to wear contacts. I had reading glasses, computer glasses, progressive glasses, distance glasses, and distance sun glasses. My eyes were operated on one week apart with the right eye being done first followed by the left eye one week later. The post surgery recovery regiment using doctor provided eye drops and over the counter moisturizing drops was simple After the lens replacement surgery (with PanOptix lenses), I could immediately see better than 20/20 for distance vision. The reading up close and computer distances were improved but were not perfect immediately. Those distances improved during the first week and continued to improve over the next 30 days. Today (6 months post surgery), I feel that all distances (far, computer, and reading) are 20/20 or better with no need for any glasses. I would highly recommend Austin Eye and Dr. Wong based on my experience!

I had lasik eye surgery almost 15 yrs ago but with age I guess my close up vision deteriorated badly where it was getting hard for me to read a menu at restaurants or even use my iPhone without glasses. I met with Dr Shannon Wong at Austin Eye and after all the tests were done I decided to have surgery and use the new panoptix lens which is supposedly will address my vision issues and provide me with a good vision from far , close and medium range. The team from start to finish were amazing. The staff are very helpful, professional and caring and explain everything properly. Although I did not see Dr Shannon on the day of the surgery for long I knew I was in good hands. There was no pain other than my own anxiety of what to expect. The second day I had a follow up and my vision was great so much better I did not need glasses to see close up and by the third day I was working on my computer without the aid of glasses. So far so good and better than I expected. I am thankful to Dr Shannon and team for their help. I would strongly recommend Austin Eye to anyone with a similar issue. I went here to get treatment for my dry eyes. It went very well, everyone was super nice and professional. The doctor took the time to explain what my actual problem is and all of the possible solutions. I feel great so far but I’ll keep in touch with them if I experience any more issues with my eyes.
