After trying to deal with the blurriness of cataracts in my left eye for the past few years, I finally decided to visit Austin Eye and discuss my options with their staff. I met with Dr. Bui and her staff. After my visit and examination, I decided to have Laser Cataract surgery at the end of the summer. The procedure was quick, painless, floaters disappeared within two weeks. My right eye is 20/20 but immediately post surgery, the brightness and clarity with which I now experienced what I saw was amazing. Being an avid outdoorsman I wanted to wait till the Fall when I spend a few weeks outdoors in the Adirondacks, NY to pass final judgment on my procedure. Unbelievable is the only way to describe the clarity with which I can now see details at a distance in the dense woods of the Adirondacks. No more “squinting” or “straining” to observe movement and foliage. My only regret is that I waited this long to do this. Should the right eye develop Cataracts in the future, there will be no hesitation on my part to get this procedure done by Dr. Bui. My wife and I have seen Dr. Mitchell Wong for years, and I have had an operation from him, too. He’s a special person. His son, Shannon Wong, just performed surgery on me this week. After previous meetings with him, then the surgery this week, I am very pleased to be able to say the same about Dr. Shannon. Both Doctors Mitchell and Shannon are good human beings, also. They generously are donating a large amount of dollars to medical eye training, etc., here in Austin, through the new medical school part of UT, I believe. Besides being very comfortable with them both in a medical sense, I am happy to say that I’m honored to be their patient and appreciative of their down to earth relationship with me and with all their patients, I’m sure.

I got my left cataract removed and I am seeing like I did when I was 12 years old. Dr. Wong and his staff go above and beyond to make you feel special and comfortable. I would drive from Austin to Dallas if I had to, just to see Austin Eye. Thank you!
