I had to travel all the way from Virginia to Texas to find a truly fantastic professional and caring eye Surgeon, Dr. Shannon Wong at Austin Eye. My story started in Virginia with a botched right eye cataract surgery. The eye surgeon in Virginia MADE the incision in my right eye only to then find out that the correct lens was not available, sending me home overnight to await delivery of the correct strength lens. By the next morning, my right eye was enlarged and swollen and I could not see out of it. This “false start” surgery caused the pressure in my eye to increase to 60, which caused my iris to be non-responsive. This Virginia surgeon then proceeded to finish the surgery, installing the now arrived supposedly correct lens in my right eye. During the very next day’s follow-up, this same surgeon told me that my right-hand eyesight was OFF due to the wrong strength lens being inserted in my eye. I was told to wait a month to see if it got any better and it never did. During this time, it was very obvious to me that the folks at this Virginia eye surgery center were simply unprofessional and uncaring. They actually charged me for all of the many follow-up visits required as a result of their mistakes. I then decided to find another eye Surgeon who I could trust. That is when I found Dr. Shannon Wong at Austin Eye, a truly wonderful professional and caring and trusted Surgeon who knows what he’s doing. It’s not just a truly wonderful professional and caring and trusted Surgeon you will find at Austin Eye, the entire Staff there is just as professional and caring. Dr. Wong replaced my left eye cataract and I now have vision in my left eye that is very close to 20/20. Dr. Wong’s many great online videos helped me to understand the entire before and after process. Austin Eye was a little more expensive, but the peace of mind offered by a professional and caring and trusted Austin Eye was well worth it. Austin eye doesn’t charge for 3 months of post-surgery follow-up visits if needed and will repair any surgery complications for NO cost for up to 1 year after surgery. This added peace of mind was well worth any added cost, even though I had NO complications. I am now planning yet another multi-state trip to Dr. Shannon Wong at Austin Eye to have him repair the wrong strength lens that was inserted into my right eye by an unprofessional and uncaring eye surgery center in Virginia. I HIGHLY RECOMMEND Austin Eye’s Dr. Shannon Wong and Staff. From my own experience I can tell you that you will have a very hard time finding a more professional, caring and competent eye surgery center than Austin Eye.
