I recently had an excellent experience at Austin Eye. Dr. River Ficke, the ophthalmologist, provided thorough and professional care, and Ellie, her assistant, was both personable and highly competent throughout my visit. What truly impressed me was how they handled a special request outside their normal scope. I needed specific testing measurements required by the FAA for pilot medical certification, which isn’t part of their standard eye exam protocol. They accommodated this on a follow-up visit with complete professionalism. The FAA documentation required extensive paperwork that had to be prepared and transferred onto official FAA forms—work that fell well outside their typical reporting systems. Despite the extraordinary time and effort this required, they handled everything with care and attention to detail. The entire staff made me feel welcome, and I genuinely enjoyed my visits. I highly recommend this practice and wish them continued success.
Efficient, friendly, knowledgeable
Dr Deese is very pleasant and competent. She is an analytical thinker able to respond to issues specific to the individual. She is outstanding.
Dr. Deese is a fantastic optometrist. She takes the time to explain all of the test results and what they mean in the long term. She walks me through all of my options. I love that I leave the doctors office feeling confident in her care and guidance!
