River Ficke, OD – Bio
Dr. River Ficke is a fresh and dynamic presence in optometry, admired for her warmth, dedication, and forward-thinking approach to eye care. Born and raised in Missouri, Dr. Ficke earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from Westminster College. She went on to earn her Doctor of Optometry degree from the University of Missouri – St. Louis College of Optometry, where she excelled academically and clinically. She enhanced her expertise through a residency in Ocular Disease at the well-regarded Doris Miller VA in Waco, TX.
Dr. Ficke specializes in comprehensive and perioperative care, preventive eye health, and the treatment and management of ocular diseases. Dr. Ficke’s approach combines the latest in optometric science with a personalized touch, ensuring that each patient receives the highest standard of care tailored to their unique needs.
In her personal time, Dr. Ficke delights in exploring Austin with her husband. She enjoys delving into the city’s lively scenes, from its renowned music venues to its diverse local restaurants. Dr. Ficke and her husband also embrace the outdoors, spending time hiking, camping, and traveling.
